MSNBC

Rebellion, Stonewall: An Expansion of the American Story

Rebellion! Stonewall details the social and legal repression that led up to the rioting over several nights in 1969 and shows how that pivotal event in Greenwich Village set in motion a fifty year battle for equal rights and respect.

As the Obama administration progressed and landmark Supreme Court rulings were on the horizon, Kristina embarked on a journey across America to document the unfolding LGBTQ+ rights movement and the fight for marriage equality. From filming legalization celebrations at city halls in Seattle, Minneapolis, New York City, and San Francisco to capturing pivotal moments at the Supreme Court during the Prop 8 and DOMA cases, Kristina’s extensive film library provided essential footage for the documentary, helping to bring this important story to life.

Nonprofit Campaigns

Kristina’s work has taken her to almost all 50 states and around the world. She has filmed and photographed global political leaders like Bill Clinton and Ban Ki-moon, interviewed cultural icons and renowned activists, and dived into intensive investigative projects, which has included original research work at UC Berkeley.

For 15 years, she has directed projects for mission-aligned nonprofits and organizations. Whether it's conducting sit-down interviews with feminist leaders like Gloria Steinem, directing a national LGBTQ+ advocacy campaign featuring Governor Newsom, academics, and members of Congress, working with Indigenous leaders to program a climate justice and organic agriculture focused-conference, or collaborating with activists in South Africa and Cuba, Kristina brings a unique global perspective and diverse skillset to every project.
